Humans Might be a Hodge Podge of Multiple Species

Plus: Webb's claims against Malone, J&J's alleged health risks, criticism against Elon Musk's silencing attempts, and climate activists' polar bear narrative.

  1. MULTIPLE ORIGINS OF MODERN HUMANITY?

A groundbreaking study published in Nature has revolutionised our understanding of human evolution. The study posits that Homo sapiens did not evolve from a single African population, as previously believed, but rather from several diverse populations across Africa. This early intermixing of distinct Homo populations is said to have occurred around 120,000-135,000 years ago. The new model suggests that modern humanity is a result of a kind of hodge-podge mixing of several distinct groups, perhaps even species, within the Homo genus, completely upending our prior models of early human history.

  2. A Wolf of Wall Street in Sheep’s Clothing

Johnson & Johnson (J&J), the maker of popular talcum powder and Tylenol, faces scrutiny over potential health dangers associated with these products. Regular use of talcum powder is linked with a 30% increase in ovarian cancer risk, contributing to around 1,400 deaths annually. Moreover, exposure to acetaminophen, the main ingredient in Tylenol, may cause most cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Evidence suggests that acetaminophen may be responsible for 40% to more than 90% of autism cases. J&J has been accused of downplaying these health risks and taking questionable measures to protect their image and profits, even as litigation against their talc still proceeds and a class-action lawsuit regarding Tylenol's effects moves forward.

  3. Webb v. Malone

George Webb, known for accurately predicting and exposing lockdown operations, argues that he is not given due credit while Bob Malone capitalises on false narratives. Webb has consistently demonstrated the manipulation of cases such as Biden’s Blackberrys, the Pak-Wuhan connection, the US State Department Live Exercise, mRNA bid rigging, and alleged misconduct regarding Ukraine biolabs. Despite Webb's track record, Malone makes a comfortable living by conveying misinformation about key issues including DOMANE, hydroxychloroquine, and Ivermectin, amassed a significant following on social media, and continues to gain financial backing, even amidst allegations of deceit.

  4. Civil Society Organizations and Experts Sign Open Letter to Stand Against Elon Musk’s Efforts to Silence Independent Researchers

Over 60 civil society organizations, academics, and thought leaders have signed an open letter criticizing Twitter parent company, X Corp, for suing the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) for reporting on the rise of hate speech and disinformation on the platform under Elon Musk’s leadership. They perceive the lawsuit as an "authoritarian" attempt to silence critics and stifle freedom of expression and call for greater accountability, transparency, and researcher access to social media platforms. Signatories include Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, and GLAAD, among others.

  5. Climate activists are silent on polar bears because their doom-mongering blew up in their faces

Climate activists have allegedly ceased discussing polar bears due to previous mispredictions about their decline, argues a recent article. The emphasis on the effect of climate change on the bears initially increased concern for the animals; however, it has reportedly caused fatigue and cynicism due to claims proving overly alarmist, specifically the infamous predictions of starvation featured in National Geographic in 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, thriving bear populations in areas like the Chukchi Sea conflict with assertions that they need year-round ice to survive. Researchers' initial claims were allegedly driven more by funding interests than genuine distress for the species.
